BRIEF HISTORY OF ECWA GUEST HOUSE, ABA
Guest House, Aba, started as a result of the money HELIOS TOWERS paid to Aba District Church Council (DCC) for erecting a mast on the DCC Headquarters premises. The sum of Five million naira was paid to Aba DCC; the DCC put the money in a fixed for three months and it attracted an interest of three hundred and fifty thousand naira.
Then the DCC executive, under the chairmanship of Rev. Dr. Ifeanyi Okereke, resolved to construct a befitting secretariat and a Guest House for the DCC, with the conviction that the money at hand would complete the ground floor.
The Executive of the DCC as at the time were:
- Dr. Ifeanyi Okereke (Chairman)

- Godfrey Chigbu (Secretary)
- Chibuzo Nzeako (Assistant Secretary)
- Elder Tanko Agbo (Treasurer)
- Elder B. E. J Nwosu (Delegate)
When the engineers came on site and work began, there and then, it was realized that five million, three hundred thousand naira could not even bring the building to D.P.C level. At that time Rev. Kris Irozuru had become Aba DCC Secretary. He appealed to the ECWA Executive for a loan to complete the building. The ECWA Executive, through the ECWA Staff Investment Scheme (ESIS), graciously granted Aba DCC a loan of seventy-nine million, two hundred thousand naira (N79.2M). It was with this money and other funds which the DCC sourced that the DCC was able to bring the Guest House to a functional stage. It is a two-storey building of 28 rooms en suite, two offices and an event hall on the ground floor.
It was the first and only Christian Guest House in the area.
The loan which was given through ECWA Staff Investment Scheme (ESIS) was to be refunded with interest.
This Guest House was officially dedicated on 8th April 2017 by the then ECWA President, Rev. Dr. Jeremiah M. Gado, and commissioned by Abia State Executive Governor, Okezie Victor Ikpeazu represented by his deputy, Ude Okochukwu. From that day, ECWA Guest House Aba, situated at No 1 Calabar Street/No 31 Aba Owerri Road Opp. Abia Polytechnic, Aba, began services to humanity and God.

At inception, the facilities available in the Guest rooms were Beddings, refrigerator, plasma TV and furniture.
The first Advisory Committee for the Guest House was inaugurated on 25th July, 2017. They were:
