PROFILE OF ESTI ALUMNI GUEST HOUSE, IGBAJA

The Guest House at Igbaja, located within the premises of the Igbaja Theological Seminary, dates back to 1941 when SIM missionaries set apart a small structure as a resting place mainly for the institution. This small structure was then managed by the missionaries but as times went on, it was demolished.

After a long while, the alumni association of the seminary deemed it necessary to have another Guest House befitting the standard of the school. The idea was initiated by the then executive of the alumni association in 2002 and approved by the management of ECWA Theological Seminary Igbaja (ETSI) during the tenure of Rev. Prof. J. B. Lawal. Each alumni member agreed to contribute one thousand naira annually for the project.

With a lot of assistance from the Seminary School, the foundation was laid and construction work commenced. The building was completed and dedicated on 6th November, 2015, by the then Provost of   ESTI, Rev. Dr. Stephen O.Y. Baba, and handed over to ESTI management to manage.

The Igbaja Guest House block is a building of twelve rooms with some equipment and facilities. Because of the peculiarity of the environment, few of the guest rooms were released as hostel for seminary students during summer. There is only one staff presently maintaining the Guest House and the structure is open to all.
